Golfclub Gastein
About the Golfcourse
Golfclub Gastein, established in 1960 and one of Austria's most traditional golf clubs, is located in the picturesque Gastein Valley, nestled in the Hohe Tauern National Park. A true institution in the Austrian golf scene, the club attracts both beginners and experienced golfers who want to experience the game in its purest form—a delight for all senses.
The 18-hole golf course was designed by renowned golf course architects Keith Preston and Dr. Bernhard von Limburger and offers a perfect blend of athletic challenge and natural beauty. The terrain is predominantly flat, making the course accessible, yet the challenging holes, alternating between hilly sections and flat levels, provide a dynamic golfing experience. Ancient tree stands and a romantic floodplain forest create an atmosphere of peace and harmony, away from everyday noise.
The first 9 holes feature generous fairways and large, sometimes heavily undulated greens, with the Par 5 holes (3, 7, and 8) being particularly challenging tests. The second half of the course, holes 10 to 18, presents shorter fairways with smaller greens and tighter fairways that require precise play. This diversity makes Golfclub Gastein particularly attractive for players of all classes, who can test their skills under various conditions.
